A Reflective Moment

This morning I began my day of ministry by bringing communion to Patients in the hospital – I find this a beautiful experience of stepping into the lives of individuals – individuals and families who are often undergoing major changes in their life because of illness, aging, and the recovery process. I just step into their lives for a moment but I am an instrument to give the gift of Jesus’ Presence that lasts forever. One woman gladly agreed to receive communion and as I held out the small host to her she pointed her finger and began to wiggle it back and forth and commanded God to take away her pain – “now listen here, you better take away this pain, I’ve been miserable . . .” Though I had to smile at her blatant request, I was deeply touched by her straightforwardness with God. “Ask and you shall receive” are the words of Jesus, and here was an individual doing just that. Her faith acknowledged the presence of God right there with her and she felt confident to make clear her needs. She is my witness to faith in Jesus’ healing presence today. Shared by Sr. Ana.

Growing, Growing and Growing...

Two weeks later, with plenty of rain, the first tender shoots spring up. You can read about and view more pictures of our pumpkin patch on our pumpkins website listed on our blog.

Pumpkin Planting Day June 13, 2009

"Grow where you are planted" are words that meant something to our volunteer farmers. It was a fun filled day of planting seeds and laughter.
